Max Kanarek started his career doing rent collections in the subsidized housing arena in Jasper and Mobile, Alabama. Apart from this he was also engaged in selling ice melt shovels and hardware door to door in Brooklyn New York at the age of just 18. Apart from Sapphire, Max is Managing Director at Lightstone Management, which is a private real estate fund that leverages the real estate market and helps in building long term projects. During his time there, Max has tripled the firm’s AUM to $97 million.
Apart from responsibility as managing director, he has taken the lead in the firms VC arm and oversees its other investments including a lighting distribution, a niche maintenance service company, and a few others. He is also involved in studying details of current fund searches and open mandates issued by investors.
